Chris Richey NAMB Summer Missionary
This Summer was awesome! God truly worked in my life and the lives of the people of Copperopolis! I came in thinking, "what have I gotten myself into?" Neither I nor anyone I knew had heard of Copperopolis Ca. Yet here I was and starting to love it. From the views of the mountains around us, to afternoon bible studies on the lake. Pastor Sean and the people of Copper Canyon Baptist Church are so loving and welcoming that I felt at home from the minute I arrived. I grew to love the people, from small kids to older generations, and loved the chance to invest in these poeple's lives. The youth are in need of strong examples of Christian living and it was an awesome experience to be able to fill that position while I was there and watch the kids respond to some positive leadership. The trips with the youth to the lake and to the beach were great times of fellowship and fun, and I know that they will leave lasting impressions on my heart. Likewise, working with youth and adults in Celebrate Recovery, Life Hurts God Heals, and all the bible studies was a great growing experience for myself and the people of Copper.
I thank Pastor Sean and Nicole, and the rest of Copper Canyon Baptist Church for the things that they have done in my life this summer, and I hope that anyone looking to take these summer positions will consider this great small town! God Bless!
